MICROMETER HOLDER

MICROMETER HOLDER

This holder is designed to securely clamp a micrometer that measures between 5/16 and 7/16 thick at its spine, ideal for a low-end Harbor Freight digital mic as seen in the photo. For a high-quality mic like Starrett, some additional material such as leather would be necessary to ensure proper fit. The holder can accommodate up to 1/2 inch thickness but may require extra support. To enhance the design, consider improving the bolt clamp for better stability. However, the current configuration is easy to work with and functional. To keep tools clean and organized, the mic is clamped in place while A tools are stored away. Key printing instructions include: - Print the Pin horizontally with bed support for maximum strength. - Print the Base in its standard plane for stability. - Print the Clamp on its side, aligning flex points with the correct plane. - As with many of my models, you may need to drill (ream) the hole and/or sand the pin slightly to achieve a snug fit. This ensures compatibility with various printers and provides a secure friction fit.
