MicroMesh Holder & Drying Rack
thingiverse
This is my custom-built storage system for drying MicroMesh pads after use. I designed it with drainage holes at the bottom so that when wet sanding with these pads, any excess moisture will drain onto a towel below. A large opening on the opposite side allows me to easily remove and stack the used pads when they're ready to dry completely. To utilize this system, simply grab the top pad and begin sanding - once you've completed a section, just move that pad to the adjacent compartment and pick up the next one until you reach the highest grit available. By the way, it's worth noting that using the same water for multiple grits while wet sanding can lead to scratches on your project piece. This is because the larger particles from each grit will contaminate the water, causing unwanted marks. Instead, I recommend wetting the pads with a spray bottle and giving the project itself a rinse under running water. After finishing the sanding process, give all the pads a good rinse under running water and let them air-dry completely before storing them in this rack on the left side for future use.
