Micromake blower-fan-duct and effector
thingiverse
I made changes to the original design of my duct because the flow wasn't good enough, and printing ABS without a fan caused it to melt. The new version flows better and should be printed with support. I had initially created a duct for a 40mm fan but found that my PLA prints only looked nice from one side since the other side was not being cooled effectively. After purchasing a blower fan with a 12.5mm x 17mm opening from aurarum.com, which fit above my effector, I built a modification. I inserted the blower fan into the new effector duct without adhesives and it fits perfectly without any leaks or movement. Then I printed the duct out of ABS due to its proximity to the hot end. The ABS duct fits well and blows air downwards from all sides, making my prints look great from multiple angles. Print settings: Printer: RepRap Kossel Mini Rafts: Doesn't matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 25% Notes: Add support to the duct as the inner walls won't print otherwise.
