Microfiber Eyeglass Cloth Compartment
grabcad
Glasses have been in use for over 700 years, with continuous innovations aimed at enhancing vision. Despite these advancements, issues like smudges on lenses persist. In my class, I was reminded of this when a smudge on my glasses distracted me. Wiping it off with my shirt only made it worse, making me wish for the microfiber cloth provided with my glasses. To address this issue, we propose an innovation: a compartment attached to the arm of specially designed glasses that carries the microfiber cloth. The compartment has overhanging extrusions sliding on a rail on the right arm. This convenient addition helps users maintain clear vision and addresses a common problem faced by glasses wearers. Our material of choice is PLA plastic, with raft and no support material for high quality 4-shelled parts at 10% infill and .1 mm layer height. Collaborating with Caleb Choncoff and Zach Petroff, we present this practical solution in partnership with Hobart High School's Mr. Vermeulen.
