MicroCube z-axis for NEMA 14 Reuses everything else
thingiverse
I wanted to use a Nema 14 motor for the z-axis and found about PistonPin's remix for a Nema 14 however it separated the smooth rods by 10mm which means I had to re-print a lot of hours to make it work. Thankfully he shared the OpenSCAD source and I simply modified it to make the Nema 14 work with 70mm wide apart smooth rods as in the original mount for the MicroCube's z-axis. One thing to keep in mind is that some NEMA 14 have wider mount holes on the top that may be too wide for the default smooth rods separation. It happened to me, and what I did to circumvent this was simply to unscrew the Nema 14 and rotate the top plate 90 degrees as shown in the photos. This way everything else should work. I haven't tested this yet as I'm about 80% into my MicroCube build but so far it looks promising.
