Micro-trebuchet

Micro-trebuchet

Design for a micro-terbuchet that can launch small projectiles about a quarter to half a meter depending on weight of the projectile. It's a tricky enough print due to the print-in-place hinges, but it comes out really well if the printer is well tuned. To print you'll need one of most pieces, with two frame pins and two counterweight pin spacers. I've put some small tabs onto the swing arm to help with bed adhesion, so they'll need snipped off after the print is finished. Assembly is just using the frame pins to connect the swing arm to the frame, and then assembling the counterweight using the pins and spacers to connect it to the opposite end of the swing arm. The sling uses a piece of 1.75mm as the hinge, with two loops of string to connect it to the release mechanism. I've attached three alpha angles for the release mechanism so you can swap them out to see which works best for you, I found a 45 degree angle is ideal. I've also included three variations of the counterweight to fit different sizes of coins. Mine is powered using GBP pennies, but the 20mm size should be suitable for euro pennies, and the 22mm size should fit americans nickels. You may need some sanding or glue for assembly depending on the tolerances of your printer. Hopefully you guys have some luck printing it and please post some makes!
