Micro Switch 10T85 Support / Holder

thingiverse

This device was engineered to install a 10T85 limit switch (inexpensive Chinese models, identical to those found on certain 3D printers) onto an IKEA furniture piece. The support relies on two projecting pins to position the micro switch within its holder. The holder can be secured with two M3 screws. The micro switch is friction-fitted, but a small safety margin (about 0.5-1mm) was included to ensure the support does not bend when the switch is inserted. Not much else needs to be said. To provide context, I wanted to create a storage compartment for my Nintendo Switch in my IKEA Kallax cabinet, so I purchased their assembly unit. I then disassembled the super-cheap push-button lights, opened them up, and replaced the push-button with a micro switch, wired as Normally Closed. The switch was mounted onto my Kallax so that the door would press against it when closed, turning off the lights. It's essentially a refrigerator light !
