Micro String Shooter
thingiverse
I made this compact version of my original string shooter, designed for pocket-sized convenience and powered by a battery. I repurposed motors from a promotional toy sold exclusively at Target, taking advantage of the two identical motors it contained. If you possess the same toy, you can replicate this string shooter using those very motors. To equip the wheels with rubber, I employed rubber bands sourced from my children's dental appliances. The laser-cut components are crafted from 1/8-inch plywood. The funnel is secured by a 6-32 screw, which threads into a 3D printed part that was tapped to accommodate the screw. This string shooter was one of two brought to Maker Faire Bay Area 2019 meetups, specifically Hack-a-Day Meetup and OSH Park Bringahack.
