Micro SD extension card holder for full graphics A6 display LCD 12864 case

I spent half a day printing this display case (from witch I made this "remix") and I asked me "why is it so big?". I couldn't find any answer except "for beauty reasons"... Anyway, I thought, what can I make meaningful with the available, unused space? An SD card holder would be great! And so there is it! Right now it is again only an "add-on" like my reset protection for this case here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2939310 But I don't want (yet) to redesign the case to make the holes for the case ready included for printing. I decided to make the holder so, that I can cut the frame(s) with a sharp knife and just put it into and (probably) glue it (I love gluing things together, makes life (and printing) so much easier ;-)) And once again, I uploaded also the easy customizable (parameterized with the sketches) FreeCAD 0.17 file. And if you plan to print this part, why not putting these two reset protection parts (thing link above) also onto the printing bed and decide then witch you want to use? :-) Print Settings Printer: Anet A8 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 50% Notes: I used 3 perimeters and 3 bottom / top layers. Post-Printing ============= Cut the holes Right now and if you have already printed the case (and so long no design with the right holes exist) you have to cut the holes for the holder with a sharp knife. Initially on the front side I have done this from the inside because I had to measure from there to fit into the right position. But if you know the distances for the holes (and you will if you continue reading :-)) it is much easier to cut them from the out- / front-side. For the**bigger hole**, that on the**front side**, the center distance (up and down) from the outside wall is**25mm** each. For the other two lines (cuts) the distance is**8mm** and**19mm**. For thesmaller hole, backside, the center / up-down it is again25mm. The other two are10mm and17.5mm. With these measurements and if I had made them maybe 0.5mm smaller, then probably no gluing would be necessary because it fits relatively tight and you press only in one direction for inserting or getting the SD card out. But even like it is now, I don't think, that I will glue the part onto the case. Category: 3D Printer Accessories
