The spacing between the cards is enough that you should be able to remove your card without tweezers. The bases are stackable, with just two stacks retaining 10 cards. It may not be clear from the picture, but the bases actually clip together along with the lid, designed to retain so nothing falls out. There are small overhangs that shouldn't require supports.
