Micro Pressure Switch
grabcad
This is my initial entry into the GrabCAD challenge. Competitors have presented noteworthy designs. I describe my fifth attempt at a pressure switch, overcoming issues with previous models that had design flaws or complexity. The primary body (excluding hose ports and quick connects) measures 7mm x 7mm x 14mm. A differential, piezoelectric diaphragm mechanism is used, operating effectively under pressure and vacuum in either port to trigger a transistor gate. The ports accommodate a 4mm ID hose, but sleeves can increase the size. The weight calculator may have an error, indicating 167.53 grams or approximately half a pound. The part requires injection molding for the main housing, printing for the transistor, stamping/machining for circuit components, and insert molding for the piezoelectric diaphragm/transistor section. In total, there are 15 pieces, with 12 being duplicates. An adjustable regulator can be installed between the transistor gate and piezo circuit to fine-tune the tripping voltage, minimizing false activations from external frequencies like engine vibration. I hope you appreciate my concept, and good luck to everyone in the competition!
