Micro Polyhedron Vertices
thingiverse
The smallest vertex I printed cleanly features a crisp snap; inspired by scaled-down objects (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4893, http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4934), this design has a modified snap for strength and reduced plastic usage. It's not just a downsized version of the above things and includes a unique snap design. The design caters to my MakerBot's quirks and SkeinForge settings, with overhangs exaggerated to account for MakerBot's fine detail undershooting. A raft-like structure helps combat warping despite hot, sanded kapton surfaces. Efficiently, 12 (or 16) pieces can be printed at once on a MakerBot, saving time for complex forms. For more details, see http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4893 and http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4934. Explore Archemedean polyheda designs on Wikipedia or Mathworld for inspiration; currently, only triangles are available.
