Micro Mesh wet sanding station (V1 and V2) now with a top
thingiverse
This is a caddy that holds micro mesh pads and water for wet sanding on a wood lathe. It allows water to move from the main reservoir, used to wet pads during sanding, into cells holding the pads to keep them wet in use. When done, simply dump water out of the main reservoir, and these holes allow water to drain away from pads so they can dry. I recently updated the base design to version 4, which added a magnetic top to cover micro mesh pads. While I couldn't retrofit the magnet mounting system for previous designs, I didn't want people who printed earlier versions to be left out. I've added an STL file for the top matching V1 or 2 versions of the design. The addition of a cover protects pads from shop dust and includes venting to allow air movement as pads dry. With the top in place, simply put it back on and while holding it in place dump water out without worrying about pads falling out of their spot.
