Micro-Dean Feminizer Shroud
thingiverse
With the legally driven push for sub 250g builds, micro-dean connectors are gaining widespread acceptance since they offer high ratings for both current and insertion/withdrawal cycle count while weighing nearly as little as JST-connectors. Their androgynous design presents a logistical advantage, but also sparks controversy: there is no mechanism to prevent users from connecting a battery to the out-lead of the flight controller intended for the ESC, or worse yet, plugging one battery into another, resulting in an explosive situation. Furthermore, it's entirely possible to short a micro-dean battery by accidentally pushing it into a soldering wire sponge. This shroud addresses these issues. It is designed to be attached with a small amount of glue to micro-dean hot-ends, typically batteries but also flight-controller out-leads for ESCs, effectively converting them into female connectors that can only be connected to non-modified ("male") micro-deans and are less prone to shorts.
