Micro Bench

Micro Bench

cults3d

A tiny tolerance test. Designed to bench 1mm down to 0.02mm in different ways. All measurements are in millimeters. I wanted to make a simple test that uses only a small amount of filament and prints in a relatively short amount of time. May help diagnose issues and could possible accentuate quality differences between nozzle sizes, printer body stability, different filaments, etc. Or just to show a user the physical limits of their printer along a specific axis to help with better design decisions. The measurements of the benchmark itself is mathematically centered around multiples of 0.4mm to denote nozzle width size, the idea is to avoid any skipped steps due to odd measurements. The 3 similar sections of the test (from left to right) are meant to benchmark tolerances of 0.1mm to 1mm. The 4th test is a series of 4 raised steps that benchmark the height tolerance of 20, 50, 100, and 200 microns. Keep in mind this model is not necessarily meant to print 100% perfectly, some of these tolerances are beyond the capability of most printers. Important: This test should be printed solid for accuracy. Dimensions: 18mm X 15.2mm X 10.8mm (Not even a full square inch!)
