Micro AEG gearbox (airsoft)

Human: Is your RC combat robot ready for battle? Maybe you've built a tank or sentry turret to take on the enemy. The answer is yes, you could repurpose an old BB gun, but why not try printing your own instead? By any standard, this homemade BB launcher is a pretty sorry excuse for a firearm. It achieves a pitiful 25FPS (7.8m/s), which is over ten times lower than a real airsoft gun. So, you won't want to use it in any sort of competitive environment. Despite its lackluster performance, this launcher could still cause serious eye damage, so handle with care. Non-printable hardware: - N20 gear motor: I used a 100RPM 6V one - Two m3x15 nuts and bolts - Rubber band If you're out of ammo, don't worry - you can print some pellets from the included STL file. This is just a prototype unit, and it doesn't have an ammo hopper, so it's more like a "EG" than an "AEG" right now. If I come up with a way to boost the velocity, maybe I'll put in some effort to make the loader work better. Inspecting the launcher revealed some wear on the teeth caused by the pinion going around too fast and catching on the rack before it's all the way back, so there are clear improvements that can be made to boost performance. As far as I know, this falls under the same category as all those "disk launcher" models here on Thingiverse, so hopefully it'll be okay with the content policy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ceF-oKmBak
