Micro-Adjustable Prusa Mendel Z-endstop
thingiverse
To achieve precise z-height adjustments and overcome the issue of a loose or tight z endstop, use a long bolt, spring, and nut. Drill a hole in the x-carriage above the mechanical endstop lever arm for the bolt. Insert the screw through the spring from the top and secure the nut at the bottom. Position the mechanical endstop coarsely, then adjust the bolt near the lever arm to get the nozzle almost touching the bed. Screw the bolt down until it triggers the endstop and tighten it firmly. This modification allows for micro-adjustments to z-endstop height, potentially simplifying carriage files with a designated nut hole. If necessary, secure the nut in place with glue to avoid applying pressure while turning the screw.
