Mickey Mouse Ear Dish

In this project, we created a Mickey mouse themed flat dish, resembling Mickey Mouse’s iconic ears! This fun design is perfect to hold erasers, pencils led, keys and any small trinket you can think of placing on your desk. There is no construction required for this projectIt fits within a 10 by 10 constraint box This project is one part of a matching mickey mouse themes office supply set. The objective of this project was to design a set of theme-based organizational products. The   Staples finance department has concluded with declining sales, the company would like to ramp up their profits in office supplies by enhancing aesthetics.  Design Process : The first step of the design process was to brainstorm and come up with ideas as a group. The theme chosen was Mickey Mouse. From there various designs were created to hold office supplies based on a central symbol representing Mickey Mouse. The idea of the dish was perfect, as all desks need room to hold small things that would otherwise get in the way. Below is the image the project is based upon Then we constructed a sketch to create the shallow dish. It was determined to make three circle based sketches and then create three revolved cuts to create the final project. To do this you would have to make the sketch of the circles which would then turn into cuts. It was decided to extrude each part individually and then adjust the sketch to make sure everything was proportional. The most challenging part of the project was making sure all of the portions were proportional. It was difficult to gauge how the ears would look in relation to the rest of the sketch. Additionally, it was imperative to add filets and chamfers to make the entire thing flow.  In the end, the cuts on the dish were a little more visual then expected but that was unavoidable with use of the 3D printer. To Check out other pieces in the set click: https://www.printables.com/model/918015-mickey-mouse-pants-pen-holder/files
