Michelangelo's Pietà detail, reduced to 150k faces
thingiverse
This is a scan of Cosmo Wenman's cast of Michelangelo's Pietà, reduced by Meshlab from over 2.5 million facets to 150 thousand. This simplification makes it possible to print quickly on low-end machines. Printing at small scale and low resolution barely loses detail. Print instructions are as follows: printed at 25% scale with 0.3 mm layers. Use this filament first; increase the printing temperature slightly for better bonding results. (Dissatisfied with visible layer separation in her cheeks - a problem caused by printing too low, 190 C.)
