Michael's Church stands tall in central Turku, its stunning design named after Archangel Michael and completed in 1905. Dominating the city's western skyline, this breathtaking church was skillfully designed by Professor Lars Sonck, a visionary who had just turned 23 when he won the coveted competition in 1894. Today, Michael's Church is one of Turku's most sought-after wedding venues, offering seating for up to 1,800 guests. Interestingly, Michael's Church predates its associated parish, which wasn't established until 1921, a full 16 years after the church was first conceived by Sonck's talented hands.
