MiBox 3 Wall Bracket (cables from below)
thingiverse
The Xiami MiBox stands out for its exceptional Android TV streaming capabilities, but it does have a unique shape that makes it incompatible with standard square brackets. I wanted to hang my MiBox on the wall and needed a secure mounting solution, so I designed this custom bracket. This design ensures that the MiBox is held in place by the weight of the cables connected from below. The bracket features a dedicated spot for one countersunk 4mm (or smaller) screw to securely attach it to the wall, while the screw head fits snugly within the base of the bracket, avoiding contact with the MiBox. This model was printed in PLA, requiring support structures everywhere and some infill (10%-ish should suffice). Due to its slanted surfaces on both sides, removing the support requires patience and care. It's worth noting that the bracket covers the USB port, as I had to place the support somewhere. However, this shouldn't be a concern since it won't obstruct the power or HDMI connectors. In the end, I opted not to use this bracket because my cables needed to be connected from the side. As a result, I designed an alternative bracket that I'll upload once I've taken some photos. If you're interested in staying up-to-date, feel free to follow me or watch for updates on this project. Update: The version with connectors on the left is available here.
