Miata / MX5 Window Switch
thingiverse
It took 3 attempts with Tinkercad to get a successful switch for my 98/99 NBA. Many thanks to CheesyTech for the original 2201805 .STL. I had to do some updating to: - shorten the tower with the switch legs on it - add front and back edge lips - make the correct sized hole for the spring loaded plunger - add the internal 2.8 mm dia blind holes for the existing hinge points to fit into Getting the old switch toggle out was rather simple - once I knew how!! Just a matter of pushing it / knocking it out from the bottom of the switch assembly. The switch toggle is held in the housing by 2 small plastic 'tits' that it toggles on. I initially drilled the holes for these but it was only when I did the 2 x 2.8mm blind holes in Tinkercad that it all worked properly. 26/11/22 Update: I initially printed in PLA+ and it didn't last a day in the hot Australian summer without softening and being unusable. (glass transition temp is 60-65C) So I then reprinted with some PETG I'd never used before (glass transition temp of 80-82C.). So far its hanging in there. But to be sure I've ordered a roll of ABS and will reprint with that (transition temp of 105C). 3/2/23 Reprinted with ABS back in December and it came out very nice. It is certainly withstanding the Australian summer heat.
