I recently ordered a Miata 140mm (3 inch) carbon fiber frame that initially left me unimpressed by its assembly process. The intricate interlocking mechanism of the carbon fiber framework proved difficult to disassemble for repairs, and it severely restricted access to the FC and ESC area - not exactly what I was looking for when placing my order. To overcome this design flaw, I created a TPU frame mount that can be inserted between the upper and lower sections of the frame. By relocating the aluminum spacers to the "square hole," I successfully reconfigured the setup to ensure smooth integration. This modification also serves as a vibration dampener for the camera, further enhancing its overall performance. This custom solution not only bolsters the structural integrity but also proves remarkably lightweight, allowing it to remain under 250g even with ducts in place (a link will be provided once the project is complete). The end result is a frame that stands slightly taller than before, yet offers unparalleled ease of access and repair - a game-changer in my opinion.
