Central Tower Interior of the Eastern High Gate of Medinet Habu: Working Model The Central Tower Interior of the Eastern High Gate of Medinet Habu is a 3D model that showcases the intricacies of this ancient structure. This detailed documentation and model were created as part of the 2018-19 Epigraphic Survey Project, led by Jen Kimpton at Chicago House. Working with Agisoft Photoscan, the team generated a highly accurate 3D model consisting of 12 million triangles. To optimize the model for better performance, it was retopologized in Blender using Instant Meshes to reduce the polygon count to 700K. A high-resolution texture was then applied to enhance visual fidelity. Future enhancements include baking normals using BakeMyScan and re-UV mapping. The team is seeking expert advice on further optimization techniques, tutorials, and best practices for achieving seamless results. Any contributions or suggestions are welcome in the comments below. The Epigraphic Survey Project remains committed to preserving and showcasing ancient monuments like the Central Tower Interior of the Eastern High Gate of Medinet Habu.
