MGN12H G5+Mosquito/Mellow Tool Carriage with Part Cooling Ducts This tool carriage is designed for mounting on MGN12H linear rail (or any other similar linear rail that features 20x20mm holes for mounting). The tool carriage anticipates the linear rail to be installed atop the X brace, ensuring a secure and stable setup. The hotend mount holes accommodate Mosquito by Slice Engineering or Mellow (Mosquito clone) hotends. These integrated fan ducts are optimized for two 50x15 blowers, delivering maximum performance and airflow. Extruder Mounting The extruder mount is specifically designed for Flex3Drive G5, the latest model available. However, if you prefer to use a bowden setup, simply re-drill the filament hole on the holder and screw in the bowden tube holder. You're ready to go. "Blower Screw Holder STL" While not required, printing and mounting this component will secure your blowers more effectively. I personally recommend gluing them to the ducts using a glue gun for added stability. Securing the Hotend If you're using a bowden setup with Mosquito, use M2.5 screws and nuts provided by Mosquito to secure it to the holder. For G5 users, insert M2.5 brass inserts into two holes where Mosquito will be secured and three holes where G5 is attached. Belt Clip I utilize this clip to keep my belt in place. Simply pull the belt through a belt hole and clip it over the belt using the provided belt-clip. This method has worked flawlessly for years, preventing any issues with belt loosening. However, please note that this will not function with the original belt due to its short length. If you're replacing your belt, simply cut it to fit, ensuring a smooth operation. Printing Recommendations This tool carriage prints at .25mm layer height, .5mm extrusion width, and .4mm nozzle diameter in PETG on a rather basic printer that struggles with bridges. Despite this, printing without supports is possible and recommended. Versions The current version of this tool carriage features several updates: * V1.0: Added holes (ears) for the belt, allowing for a more secure attachment. * V2.0: Thickened ears to better accommodate the 2020 standard, added ziptie anchors for improved cable management, and optimized STL orientation for printing without supports. * V3.0: Widen the holder by ~6mm to accommodate the G5 arm and added three new holes for rotating the G5 90 degrees. Sound Testing I've conducted sound testing using PRC blowers "Magic Dragon BFB0512HH 12V 0.32A 5015 Centrifugal Turbo Fan." The results are as follows: * Ambient noise: 48dBA * Blowers powered with 9V in the fan-duct: 55dBA * Blowers powered with 12V in the fan-duct: 60dBA * Blowers removed from the fan-duct, freely floating 9V: 60dBA * Blowers removed from the fan-duct, freely floating 12V: 63dBA DO NOT USE YET!!! This is a work-in-progress design. To complete it: * Test this in real life on a 3D printer to ensure proper cable management and functionality. * Verify compatibility with RTD and heater cables in tight spaces.
