To quickly get familiar with our MGN12 conversion, check out kit assembly guide and listing: http://gulfcoast-robotics.com/mgny https://gulfcoast-robotics.com/mgny_man BOM with exploded view diagram showing all parts of this kit is included as PDF drawing. This is our variant of Y axis MGN12 rail conversion for popular Ender 3. Our kit is straight forward to install and do not require any modification of the original parts, unless you decide to keep stock Y carriage and drill new holes in it with provided drilling template. Our MGN12 conversion will require slightly longer timing belt and kit has it. We’d like to use sturdy metal parts in our designs and that is why new front idler plate and new motor mount plate are made of aluminum alloy. Metal parts in this conversion are relatively simple and flat, they can be replicated without CNC machinery, if you have a hacksaw, file, drill press and M6x1 metric tap. Check out CAD files and drawings for these parts. You can use 1/8” or 3mm aluminum sheets for fabrication of both – front idler plate and motor mount plate, although our kit uses 5mm and 3mm thick anodized parts. Kit uses small 3d printed parts for new belt clips, Y limit switch lever and for front stopper. We print those parts without support, PLA, double shell and 50% infill. Additional helpful parts – drilling template for stock carriage and MGN12 centering jig. Template only needed if you keep stock carriage, but jig is always useful and allows keeping MGN12 rail centered in relation to T-slot on Y axis extrusion beam. We offer all variants of this kit, including minimalistic short kit (use your stock carriage plate and your own MGN12 rail).
