MGN12 Bontech BMG and Slimmed Down
thingiverse
I was a big fan of the original setup but had grown weary of the entire wheels in the 2020 concept by 2020. This design works incredibly well when printed in PETG. To match the source, I made sure to adjust the BMG so that it rests flush on the carriage, only raising it slightly for testing purposes to see if improved cooling would be a result - and it didn't appear to make a difference from what I could tell. The setup uses all of the same accessories as the original model, including BLTouch hotend fans and other necessary components. A MGN12H fits perfectly into the recessed area, and the belt is centered on the 2020 precisely as it should be. My only concern is that getting the belt onto the loops isn't a straightforward task. I found it necessary to put the belt on with it detached from the MGN12H block. The back plate was oriented flat side down, which required no additional support, and the tensioned belt hasn't caused any issues - YMMV. If you decide to print the design with the back plate upright, this might be a better approach or not, depending on your personal preference. Heatset inserts are used for most components except the 40mm fan, where I opted for Amazon's M3x3mmx5mm specials instead.
