MG90S Servo Motor
grabcad
I was recently working on a gimbal design for a quadcopter using this servo. I needed a custom Horn (Shaft Adapter Component) and couldn't find any reliable details for the spline measurement. Took some photos with a digital microscope and set out to CAD the shaft end and body assembly based on the image files and using Inventor's Design Accelerator shaft/spline generator. I was able to somewhat sucessfully 3D print the horn using a CR10 printer to work for the gimbal. It's really hard to 3D print something this tiny so the the 3D print settings are crucial. Hope someone will find this information useful. Download the zip file for more details. Note: In case anyone was wondering how the SG90 compares to the MG90S. The MG90S shaft has 20T with an OD of 4.9mm vs. 21T and an OD of 4.85mm on the SG90S. In addition the SG90S shaft is plastic vs. aluminum on the MG90S. What's odd is that the plastic horns that come with these kits look identical. The molding was so bad on the horns I couldn't get and accurate tooth count even under my microscope.
