MG90S Servo Motor
grabcad
I recently worked on a quadcopter gimbal design using this servo, requiring a custom Horn (Shaft Adapter Component) that didn't have reliable spline measurement details available. I took digital microscope photos and set out to CAD the shaft end and body assembly based on image files, utilizing Inventor's Design Accelerator shaft/spline generator. With successful 3D printing of the horn using a CR10 printer, it works for the gimbal, but 3D printing something this tiny is extremely challenging, making settings crucial. I hope someone finds this information useful, so they can download the zip file for more details. Note: Comparing the SG90 to the MG90S, the MG90S shaft has 20T with an OD of 4.9mm vs. 21T and an OD of 4.85mm on the SG90S; the SG90S shaft is also plastic versus aluminum on the MG90S. It's odd that the plastic horns from these kits look identical, but the molding was so poor I couldn't accurately count teeth even under my microscope.
