This holder cradles Makerbot 2X printers on MG Chemicals .25kg spools. Spools boast a 1 1/8" center hole and measure 2 1/4" in depth. Printing in two separate pieces, they can be merged together seamlessly. A solid adhesive option for joining the pieces is ABS pipe cement or an ABS to PVC transition compound easily accessible at any local hardware store. Alternatively, PLA users can opt for acrylic adhesive or forego glue altogether by threading a couple of zap-straps (zip-ties) through the frame's openings and securing it in place.
