This is a (possible) stock strip to produce Mfg Clip by Brad Gordon The process features a shear formed edge on the carrier side to help control the strip from wandering, which is always a possibility with a one-sided carrier. The progression is only .550", the pilot diameter is .250", thus the "extra" idle stations. In reality, it's possible more idle stations would be required to fit all of the necessary components in the die.
