Metric tap and die case
prusaprinters

This is a remake of alaubham 'Tap / Die Tray for 12 Piece Irwin Hansen Metric Set'. I added the small slots to make access to the parts and added a cover case. The cover was printed in PLA and the tray with PETG because that is what I had. I do not think the material makes any difference.

The 2.25" x 4.25" data-sheet is handy. I give the drill size for the metric taps. I got the information from engineering tables and rounded them. Most of us do not have the actual drills suggested so I picked something close but even the 'close' will not be something you have - just do the best you can without over boring the hole.

5-10-2021 As a request, I have made a metric and SAE cases. I have never printed these objects. They should be printed as shown.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

Prusa Mk2

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

standard

Infill:

30

Notes:

5 perimeters and 6 upper and lower layers. Print objects as I have them in stl files and there will be no problem. There is an indent on the top side to put the Metric Tap guide sheet.

The printable sheet is included and will easily print on your color printer. Laminate the paper on both sides with plastic laminating sheets - Staples has them. Glue the laminated sheet to the box with a VERY SMALL AMOUNT of hot melt glue.

Category: Tool Holders & Boxes
