metric pvc-pipe spoolholder
thingiverse
Human: all existing spool-holders on thingiverse were designed around various imperial-sized pvc pipes - this design fixes that issue :-) \nbuild from a standard drainpipe piece with a 40mm outer diameter, along with some wood, cut to length and sourced from the same hardware store :-) \nsimple/lean design allows for quick printing and assembly, making it easy to change filaments super fast (no center hub to unscrew/mount)!\n\nInstructions\nrequired parts: \npvc pipe with a 40mm outer diameter (36mm inner diameter) \na piece of wood measuring 39mm wide by 4.5mm thick (my source listed it as 40mm x 5mm x 1000mm) \nfour 608 roller-skate bearings \nassembly: \nprint the parts four times \ncut two pvc pieces, each approximately 9cm in length \ncut two wood pieces to match a 18cm length \nthrust the bearing into the sleeve and place it within the wooden holder \npush the bearing assembly onto the wooden part (otherwise the holder might break) \nalignment is crucial; ensure each pair of bearing holders rests snugly on the wooden components \nsecure the pvc pieces around the wood base \nImportant note: optimal measurements depend on spool size - these settings may require adjustments to accommodate common or oversized reels.
