METOPE, no. XLIII
sketchfab
Emperor Trajan proudly accepts two Roman soldiers presenting their imperial standards, both clad in tunics, with short pants, cape, and gladius at the ready. The intricately carved metope is a testament to the monumental tribute erected between 106-109 A.D. in honor of this esteemed leader. Crafted from high-quality limestone, it now resides within the Adamclisi Museum in Romania.
