A clamp for securing a meterstick perpendicular to a 3/4" support rod, intended to make measuring horizontal distances like the horizontal component of the amplitude of a pendulum easier. The picture does not show that there are sockets for standard 1/4-20 hex nuts on the inside of the thumbscrew holes - the nuts accept 1/4-20 thumbscrews like the ones shown. Don't over-tighten the thumbscrew on the meterstick, as doing so may cause cracking where the thumbscrew feature meets the body of the clamp. Don't rely on a meterstick being horizontal; check with a level if accuracy is important.
