Metatron's Cube

A model of Metatron's Cube that I had on my computer. Print it by itself or use it as an embossment on something. I was cleaning up fusion after years of organizational abuse and came across it.

Metatron is called the scribe of God (also called ancient of days in some traditions, but this isn't a metaphysics lesson). The lines of all the platonic solids in perspective can be seen within the cube (with a little extra work for the icosohedron and dodecahedron, and a little grace for what counts as proportional). Thus, the meaning of this symbol to a people in a time when science and art and math and magic and theology were all the same thing is the idea of abstract truth becoming concrete and manifest.

I hope that doesn't sound too out there. When you design the deflection of a part using the young's modulus of your material and the use calculus to find the inertial moment and then you build the part and it behaves in the real world exactly as you intended in the abstract-that is Metatron.
