Non-nail metal discovered on the Moses Brown Site in Providence, RI, USA. Trench: MB005 Context: 2 Description: A flat piece of metal features one curved end and another end showing signs of breakage with a narrowing protrusion near the breakage point. The metal is slightly curved when viewed from a flat position. Interpretation: The spreading part of an iron spreader knife, likely broken off at the handle. Three other non-nail metal artifacts were found in the same context; seventeen non-nail metal artifacts discovered in the same trench.
