Here is a useful model for printing 3" trackball hole fillers that fit snugly into metal arcade control panels. Simply pop it from the back, and cover the back with duck tape to keep it securely in place - it won't fall forward as its larger size prevents this. This design ensures the hold remains flush on top, allowing control panel overlays to be applied without visible "bumps". Alternatively, you could print it with the larger side facing up instead of down, eliminating the need for tape. However, this would mean the hole wouldn't be flush when applying a control panel overlay.
