The Messerschmitt ME-262A1 Swallow, the world's first operational jet fighter in combat, was a result of a twin-jet design development process that began before WWII. Initial development faced difficulties and delays due to engine issues, limited resources, and production constraints. Despite these challenges, the aircraft entered service against Allied bombers in 1944 with its advanced technology making it difficult to counter. However, insufficient numbers failed to impact the war's outcome significantly. After the war, captured ME-262s were seized by the British and Americans for testing and development, which led directly to the F-86 and influenced subsequent designs. This fully textured model comes with animateable features, detailed cockpit, animatable turbines, and is available in 9 formats for downloading.
