The Cluj-Napoca Botanical Garden is a botanical gem located in the south part of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. It was founded in 1872 by visionary Samuel Brassai. Its director in 1905 was Aladár Richter, followed by Páter Béla, Győrffy István, and then taken over in 1920 by the local university, with Alexandru Borza at the helm. This esteemed institution is a scientific, didactic, and educational powerhouse, subordinate to the Babes-Bolyai University. Founded by professor Alexandru Borza in 1920, this prestigious garden covers 14 hectares of diverse geological terrain, ideal for cultivating and developing plants from various continents, with 10,000 specific plant categories being nurtured here. The Botanical Garden is divided into several sections: ornamental, phytogeographic, systematic, economic, and medicinal.
