Mesh to solid #2. Sphere transformation
grabcad
Triceratops, Voronoi cells and t-pipe are examples of meshes converted into solids in Parts 1, 3, and 4 respectively. To create a surface sphere, use geometric primitives in Rhino or Inventor with various construction variants. Converting the model to STEP and STL neutral formats is also possible. However, converting mesh to surface currently lacks optimal software. T-splines (http://www.tsplines.com/products/tsplines-for-rhino.html) are a commonly used option for this purpose. Note that the Triceratops file in polysurface format is available upon request, but it has a significantly increased size of over 500 MB due to conversion.
