Mesh Modeling Exercise 1: Create a Simple Object Create a new object using only a few faces and vertices. This exercise is designed to help you understand the basics of mesh modeling and how it differs from other forms of modeling. Start by creating a cube with 6 square faces. To do this, select the "Cube" tool in your software and adjust the size to your liking. The default settings should give you a cube that's roughly 1 unit x 1 unit x 1 unit in size. Next, delete one of the top or bottom faces of the cube. This will leave you with a single, solid piece of geometry. Select all the remaining vertices and extrude them outward by 0.5 units. This will create a new face that's perpendicular to the original surface. Finally, select the newly created face and bevel it by 30 degrees. This will give your object some curvature and make it more interesting to look at. Your finished mesh model should have 6 vertices, 12 edges, and 8 faces. Take note of how the different components work together to create a cohesive whole.
