Mershon Railroad Tower
thingiverse
This is an HO scale drawing of a railroad interlocking tower that was inspired by the Mershon tower located in Saginaw, Michigan. The original tower still exists today but has been relocated to the Saginaw Railroad museum (www.saginawrailwaymuseum.org). To improve visibility of the interior, I drew the windows slightly larger than those on the original structure since I did not have access to blueprints or a physical building to reference. Instead, I relied on photos for accuracy. The mershon_building_floor STL features a solid floor and end pads that prevent curling up during printing. In contrast, the mershon_building_hollow STL has no floor, allowing users to print it upside down if their printer prefers this orientation. Two copies of the back shed are included in this design. This drawing was printed using white PLA with acceptable results. However, I suspect a resin printer could achieve even better outcomes.
