This was one of my earlier sculptures, several years old, obviously drawing inspiration from Davey Jones but hopefully less gruesome . This project was completed in Sculptris, a free 3D sculpting software. Due to the intricate geometry on the face, it was necessary to print the model upside down with all the support material in place on the surface. Removing the supports took significantly longer than expected, more than a full day, after carefully cutting away several layers I allowed it to sit in the sun so that the internal areas still damp could fully cure and harden properly.
