Merex Direct Drive Extruder 1,75 or 3mm Filament
thingiverse
This extruder was designed for a new Merlin Hotend, printable in one part with support structures. However, be cautious as it has intricate thin sections that require high-quality printing. The Merlin Hotend with a 0.2mm nozzle is ideal and any drive gears from 10 to 13mm diameter will fit perfectly. Required components include M3x20, M4 threaded bolts, M4 safety nuts, M6 x20mm, M4 wingnuts, short 10mm springs, an M10 nut, M4 bolts for connecting the extruder to your x carriage, a 626ZZ ball bearing, and Thing files for different filament types. It's a work in progress with frequent updates, so feedback is appreciated. Updates include designs for 1.75mm and 3mm filaments, adjustable motor mount holes, and a self-made support structure for high-quality printing. Build instructions are provided for the Protos V2 with Merlin Hotend, ABS material, and specific layer height. Note that PLA is not suitable due to its instability at higher temperatures caused by the hot end.
