Mercury Outboard Throttle Lever Part# 44425

This is a temporary replacement Lever Throttle designed specifically for an outboard motor. The part number for this particular throttle is Mercury Part# 44425, which many users have found to be prone to breaking, resulting in complete loss of throttle control from their outboard motor. I created this temporary fix to allow me to get back on the water while waiting for the replacement piece that I had ordered. If used for extended periods of time, I would recommend adding a sleeve over the screw threads to prevent wear and tear on the mating throttle linkage. To add extra strength to my design, I used a 6mm x 35mm bolt as the post, rather than relying on the original print's limitations. Before inserting the screw, I tapped the hole in the print to ensure a secure fit. This Lever Throttle was printed using ABS at 90% infill and is intended for temporary use until the replacement part arrives. So far, it has worked perfectly and will likely become a valuable spare part for my boat. Although posting this design may be a long shot, I hope that others who have struggled to find a suitable replacement will find it useful and benefit from its design.
