Mercury Black Boot Shotgun Add-On

I was tasked with creating components that transform a boot into Mercury Black's shotgun boots from RWBY. The front plating I crafted using EVA foam, but to expedite the process and reduce effort, I designed and 3D printed the shells around his ankles and the gun mechanism at the back of the boot. Each piece features thin gaps for slipping 1-inch webbing through. Adding plastic buckles or clips results in a secure boot attachment. I opted for four shells on each side of the foot, totaling eight per foot. Limited pictures of the boot's firing mechanism led me to rely heavily on fan art and cosplayer designs as references. Taking some creative liberties with the design, I based it on these sources. The shotgun part is intentionally asymmetrical, requiring flipping to achieve a mirrored version for the other boot. The shells are quite tall, necessitating rafting to maintain their position. However, my printer struggled with this requirement, often causing them to fall. To mitigate this issue, I employed a temporary solution by securing the edges of the brim to the bed using hot glue, which I later removed after printing was complete.
