Mercedes Sun Visor Clip

Mercedes Sun Visor Clip

This is a visor clip I designed and printed for my 1989 Mercedes Benz 300E. It should also fit W123, W124, W126, W140, and W201 models. It lacks provisions to carry electricity for the vanity mirror & light. I used Carbon Reinforced PETG from 3DXTech (3DXMAX). Print orientation is crucial. The screw cover must be printed on its side to provide greatest strength across its "C" opening. The main clip should be printed on its back, ensuring little or no need for supports and facilitating load transfer from the screw cap to the screw head. The assembly's strength comes from the screw cover. When inserted into place, it captures the visor and transfers the load into the base of the main piece. Print Settings: Printer: Wombot Exilis Rafts: No Supports: Doesn't Matter Infill: 50 - 100% Notes: I used 3DXMAX Carbon Fiber PETG Filament Post-Printing: Use a flat file and/or Steel-wool The sides are flat, so a flat file works well to provide a polished surface. Steel-wool also leaves a nice matte finish when printing in carbon PETG. The dark grey matches the interior of my car very well. Clip after installation
