Mercedes Star Boar Substitute
thingiverse
The star of my E220, built in 2009, met an untimely demise at my own hands, so I took matters into my own hands and designed a worthy replacement - a chicken substitute that's both cute and functional. Initially, I created a little chicken using Thingiverse's design #2843353 and paired it with a picture of the finished product. A friend approached me with a request to create a boar substitute for his Mercedes, which prompted me to combine my walking boar design from bs3 with the star-chicken hybrid. To get the positioning just right, I made some minor adjustments and rigged the boar accordingly. To ensure stability during printing, I split the design into two halves, which can then be glued together securely. For optimal results, I recommend using 3 or 4 perimeters for each half. Once assembled, a coat of chrome spray paint will give it a glossy finish that's sure to turn heads. The finished product fits snugly on the hood of my car and stays in place thanks to a safety pin. However, do remember to drill a hole through the base pole first (check out the attached picture for more details).
