Mercedes Benz SL500 Convertible Top Flap Replacement Hinge

This is a replacement hinge for the Mercedes Benz SL500 (2004-2009) convertible top cover flap, also known as an interior quarter-panel trim for convertible top. Part number 23069009417F08 was used to model this part, which can be epoxied or glued into place with simple modification of the existing cover. First, remove the cover from the vehicle by taking out the silver bolt under the cover and the torx screw under the main roof cover flap. The top must be in the 50/50 up position to find the torx screw. Next, use a sanding disc or Dremel tool with a sanding disc to remove the existing broken plastic hinge components from the cover. Sand the cover so the newly printed part can lie flat on the underside of the cover. Finally, epoxy the new part in place and let it dry before replacing the cover on the car. Print settings include using Printrbot's Simple Black printer without rafts or supports, a resolution of 0.125mm, and an infill of 80%. The part was printed in clear ABS with the fan running to ensure the hinge loops don't collapse.
