Mercedes 300sl roadster print in place with moving wheels
thingiverse
I heavily customized the model to be printed in one seamless piece, with it lying flat and featuring wheels built directly into an axle system. Printing without any orientation adjustments and using a .2mm layer height produced excellent results for me. However, scaling down the design may lead to printing issues with the windshield. It's worth noting that Slic3r encounters difficulties slicing this model due to its internal structure, which appears as inverted during import and cannot be repaired automatically. Even manual repair attempts in other tools were unsuccessful. This issue likely stems from the original model being designed for assembly rather than single-piece printing, resulting in manifold problems. Fortunately, Cura successfully slices the model without any issues, making it a suitable alternative if you're experiencing trouble with Slic3r.
